2 Broke Girls stars Beth Behrs and Kat Dennings to host People’s Choice Awards!
Move over Kaley Cuoco! There’s a new blonde assuming hosting duties for the People’s Choice Awards. Beth Behrs of CBS’ 2 Broke Girls and her co-star Kat Dennings will host the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards next year. The show will mark the duo’s first hosting gig.
“Kat and Beth are great additions to our People’s Choice family and we are excited to have them host the show,” said People’s Choice Awards Executive Producer Mark Burnett in a statement. “Their energy and charisma are a perfect fit for our audience.”
On 2 Broke Girls, Behrs and Dennings play two broke waitresses sharing an apartment in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Williamsburg while trying to save enough money to get their cupcake business off the ground. This is not their first appearance at the awards show – the duo accepted their first People’s Choice trophy for Favorite New TV Comedy for 2 Broke Girls in 2012. In addition to hosting this year’s show, the comedic team is up for two awards in the Favorite Network TV Comedy and Favorite TV Gal Pals categories.
I’m personally excited since I’ve loved 2 Broke Girls since the show first premiered in 2012. The ladies have gotten closer, as is apparent when you watch their chemistry during the show and I can’t wait to see how they pull off hosting the awards.
The 40th annual People’s Choice Awards will air live from the Nokia Theater L.A. Live on Wednesday, Jan 8, 2014 at 9 p.m. E.T on CBS.
