CMA Awards 2015 Red Carpet
Last night country music’s biggest stars gathered in Nashville for the CMA Awards so everyone HAD to put on their red carpet best – however they define that. Who stunned and who still needs practice getting dolled up? Check out the pictures below:
Since slaying the red carpet while pregnant is officially a thing why wouldn’t Carrie Underwood jump on the trend? Carrie is always conscious of how gold details work for her and this pregnancy glow looks like it’s adding more glam to her look.
I want to love Miranda Lambert but her look seems just two steps off. The dress doesn’t offer her breasts enough support but the color and fit are great. Her accessories are on point – the red lip and red touch on her clutch are unexpected details that work – but the hair looks too stiff. It could use more movement and a less extreme part.
Lucy Hale came close to being the best dressed of the night! Since the CMAs is slightly more casual than many awards her understated gown and matching lip work perfectly. I love that she still had a little fun with the blonde ombre highlights and fringe purse.
RaeLynn’s red lip was a great choice, as was the cut of her dress but I wish she would’ve went with a different color. Black does nothing positive for her pale skin and super blonde hair. She would’ve been better off with an emerald dress or even a pale hue that doesn’t offer too much contrast to her skin.
As usual Taylor Swift looks great but aren’t we tired of seeing her in red? I feel like this is her version of an LBD – if she’s pressed for time or decided last minute that a bold look isn’t worth the risk she defaults to a red dress and red lip combo. If she’s going to make that transition from country to pop she has to stop being safe and take more risks!
Cassadee Pope is cute but this look is a bit more holiday party appropriate than CMA red carpet ready. She could use a lesson in when to wear what.
If you’re going to go with basic black make it count and that’s exactly what Danielle Bradbery did. Her faux plunging neckline is sexy without being overexposed and her fishtail braid nails ‘casual chic’ without going overboard. Adding green dangling earrings and arm candy lets them both make individual statements without clashing. We can barely see her shoes but they seem just a touch too clunky. If I were to pick anything wrong with her look that would be it, but that’s a reach of course.
The CMAs are generally safe when it come to fashion risks, so I’ll let this basic black dress slide but Natalie Stovall still has to answer for her hair. The texture of her curls look forced and reminds me of the 80s when country stars were always 10 steps behind in the fashion world.
Jana Kramer NAILED IT! There is literally nothing wrong with this look – it’s elegant and appropriate for the occasion, works with her features as opposed to against them, and isn’t even trying too hard.
Did you watch the CMAs? Who would you pick as your best dressed?
