Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery Review (Sponsored)
I’m always on the hunt for face products that keep my sensitive skin from breaking out so I was excited to try out this Dynamic Skin Recovery moisturizer from Dermalogica.
Usually I use SPF 30, but it hasn’t been doing much to protect my skin. Too much sun exposure can lead to skin cancer and I want no parts in that! I was anxious to see what difference SPF 50 would make – would I simply stop tanning on my morning runs or would the SPF be too strong to blend well with my skin? Here we go…
I’m happy to say the SPF formula was not too strong for my complexion – yes it blended well without turning my dark skin purple! This 2-in-1 moisturizer/sunblock is light enough for the summer, but I’m not sure if it will be enough for the winter season. I may end up needing something thicker to keep my combination skin from drying out.
Though it does its part to keep my skin moisturized and bright, Dermalogica’s Skin Recovery does absolutely nothing for my dark spots. I only use Skin Recovery in the morning, I’m not wasting that SPF while I sleep! – and I’ve noticed dark spots aren’t fading as quickly as when I use a moisturizer that targets dark spots both day and night. I’m obviously less than happy about it. Apparently their Pure Light formula is designed for uneven skin tone and still has SPF 50 so I’m thinking of giving that formula a try.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this moisturizer. Once all my dark spots have cleared, I can see myself committing to it as my summer go-to morning moisturizer. If you don’t have a dark spot problem, but you do have $65 to spend on a moisturizer and SPF in one, I suggest you try Dermalogica’s Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50.
