2018 Golden Globes Red Carpet Looks

Thanks to #MeToo the 2018 Golden Globes should have been the easiest red carpet in history right? Ehh.

While most attendees managed to look decent there were still a handful who couldn’t get it together.  Let’s take a look at how the starlets showed their sense of style while following the #TimesUpNow dress code.

An understated dress is a great chance to let your hair and makeup stand out and no one knows this better than Viola Davis! This velvet Brandon Maxwell dress combined with her fro and a neck full of jewels is giving off Diana Ross vibes. Easily one of the most gorgeous looks of he night. We need to see this fro more often!

Talk about making a statement in all black! Tracee Ellis Ross accessorized her roomy Marc Jacobs frock with a matching turban.

I don’t think Mandy Moore understood what “all black” means. That red band on this Rosie Assoulin dress is unnecessary since her Irene Neuwirth jewels are enough.

Miss Mariah Carey was truly in her element in all black! She hasn’t looked this good in a while so I’m happy to see her get it together for the Globes and can’t help but notice her paying homage to the 20th anniversary of her Butterfly album with that butterfly ring!

Jessica Chastain also looks like old Hollywood glam in this Armani Prive gown with soft waves and drop earrings.

Halle Berry is always effortlessly fine and this year’s Zuhair Murad look was no exception.

The silver trim on Diane Kruger’s Prada gown gives just enough accent to not draw criticism for not following the “all black” rule.

Kendall Jenner’s Giambattista Valli dress reminds me a lot of Rihannna’s 2015 Grammy’s look. Kendall’s version has less jewels and less volume but she did manage to make it her own and it works!

Jamie Chung is a dream in Ermanno Scervio and Chopard jewelry. I’m having a hard time deciding how I feel about her mismatched Sophia Webster shoes.

Zoe Kravitz did what I expected most stars to do – found a simple but flattering Saint Laurent dress and added statement earrings. It may be safe but she looks good!

Kate Hudson looks like she’s going through a midlife crisis. This Valentino dress is doing too much and her short haircut isn’t enough of a distraction.

Kerry Washington completely missed the mark by combining this sequined Prabal Gurung dress with these mesh and floral Roger Vivier shoes. She looks like a punk teen who is being forced to wear a dress at her cousins high school graduation. Her biggest mistake? The awkward part in her hair makes it look like a bad wig.

Soairse Ronan kept it simple which worked in her favor. The small silver details on the dress and matching jewels were a nice touch.

What did you think of these all black looks?
