Grammys 2017 Best and Worst Dressed
Like the actual 2017 Grammy awards themselves, the Grammys red carpet was full of mediocrity and upsets. Fortunately, a few acts did manage to get their looks together. Here are the best and worst dressed stars:
Daya looks like a harlot at a mid-19th century funeral. She should have tried something younger and perhaps played with color.
Jill Scott looks like your frumpy coworker. There’s nothing else to be said.
You know how you try on a gown in the fitting room and send a pic to your friends before purchasing? That’s how Charlie XCX looks in this Vivienne Westwood dress. You can’t try to pull off the vivacious Jessica Rabbit plunging look and not follow through with great hair. The hair turns an otherwise amazing dress into a failed attempt at trying to be effortlessly sexy.
Katy Perry is trying too hard in this Tom Ford gown. The blonde is a good look, and the turtleneck top was cool until we got to the shaggy bottom. There’s no way she didn’t know this looked like garbage.
Taraji P Henson has been consistently on point this – and last – award season but she missed the mark in this Marc Jacobs dress. It’s too snug and looks too young. Instead of serving 40 and fabulous as she usually does, she’s giving off “I’m aging but I still want to be young and cool” vibes.
Talk about being reckless when you rock your Givenchy dress; Adele didn’t just steal Bey’s Grammys, she stole attention on the red carpet! Adele veered away from her usual black and or red and gave us green, which was VERY flattering on her!
I predicted newcomer Maren Morris would be one to watch on the red carpet and she came through! This dress is equal parts sultry, stylish and safe which is perfect for your first time at the Grammys.
Heidi Klum has the best set of legs on any model and I’m thankful every time she flaunts them. I don’t even care that her outfit is basically a shimmery shirt, she looks damn good! The shoes are a bit chunky cheap stripper but they do make this look less “naked” and more balanced.
Rihanna in Armani Prive and Chopard jewels is the best way to show off that even if you don’t win you are still winning in life.
J. Lo‘s flowy lavender Ralph and Russo dress is fun and sexy at the same time, but I could have done without the neck accent. I think she was going for “character” but the look would have been just fine without it.
Tori Kelly almost had it, but this dress has too many ruffles and makes her midsection look slightly dumpy. I think the green looks GREAT on her, and she mastered the “I didn’t do my hair but I’m still hot” look. The gold accessories and red lip work great with the color also. Had the dress lost about 90% of its ruffles I would have been happier!
Demi Lovato in Julien McDonald might be one of her best looks to date! She looks like a younger. more voluptuous Demi Moore and I am here for ALL. OF. IT. Demi’s been growing as an artist and her style seems to be evolving at the same rate. If this is any indication of future Demi Lovato, I’m excited to see what she morphs into in the future!
Best New Artist Chance the Rapper shed his signature overalls for a dog catcher outfit but kept the hat and I actually like this. It’s fitted and not black making it my favorite look from a male artist last night!
