Beyonce and Topshop announce athleisure line Ivy Park!
Ever since TopShop announced an upcoming collaboration with Beyonce I’ve been anxiously waiting and making sure my body – and wallet – would be in shape when the collection dropped. Looks like Beyonce heard my concerns, the singer/goddess just announced Ivy Park – her activewear and athleisure brand co-founded with the London-based fashion staple!
An homage to her daughter Blue Ivy and the street Beyonce grew up on – Parkwood – Ivy Park is all about getting back to that place that motivates you to better. As with most fitness attire, Ivy Park’s pieces are mostly dark or otherwise neutral to make mixing and matching easy. I must say, Bey has made A LOT of progress from her House of Dereon days!
The visuals posted to ivypark.com show Beyonce and a number of diverse but fit women doing various exercises including swimming, running, basketball, and even those circular monkey bar things I’ve steered clear of since the second grade. According to Topshop, the collection centers around leggings with three different rises, drop arm tees, sweatshirts and technical jackets. Based on the video below, it looks like the collection will also feature swimwear, sneakers and of course, sports bras.
Ivy Park will be available online and in stores on Thursday April 14. There’s still no word on how pricey the collection will be, though since the line will be sold exclusively at TopShop, whose merchandise has been getting increasingly expensive – and Nordstrom I’m guessing I should plan on save every penny in my account to be on the safe side.
