People’s Choice Awards 2014 Red Carpet Looks

By  |  0 Comments

Last night the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards was held at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles.  While the show itself didn’t offer much to talk about there were some cool fashion looks from the stars. Among the red carpets top trends were all white, the classic all black and youthful prints. Keep reading to see who nailed the red carpet and who needs to hire a better stylist.

2 Broke Girls star and People’s Choice Awards host Beth Behrs decided to rock the black trend and white trend together and it worked in her favor! Behrs stuck to an equally simple beauty look and accessories thus avoiding  any unsightly clash of the trends.

Beth’s co-star/co-host Kat Dennings seems to finally have gotten her cleavage situation under control. The actress donned a rose printed gown that cinched her tiny waist and gave the girls just enough room to breathe. As usual, her hair and makeup were on point too.

Entertainment Tonight‘s Rocsi Diaz chose a playful look for the evening and did she ever wear it well! The People’s Choice Awards is a perfect opportunity to pick playful over glamorous and Rocsi’s patterned dress with neon green shoes and gold chain made for a fun ensemble. Her tousled hair and red nails were an equally playful complement to her overall look.

Favorite Movie Actress recipient Sandra Bullock also took the fun route with her wardrobe and managed to own it as well! Is anyone else noticing a pattern to? Take a fun printed dress, add green pointy heels, tousle hair and work it!

Ian Somerhalder must not be taking his split with Nina Dobrev well – he didn’t seem to have it in him to put on a full suit, instead cheating with a blazer and jeans. Should we just be glad he shaved and put on pants period? His look is well tailored and would be great for a different event but fellas, let’s go back to wearing suits to awards please!!

Of all the ladies in white, Jennifer Hudson rocked it best. The Favorite Humanitarian award recipient donned white head to toe, breaking up the monotone with a black mani/pedi and a simple black bracelet. JHud always brings it on the red carpet, managing to make chic look easy. Keep it up!!

Sara Bareilles was brave to leave the house like this. Peter Pan collar, a red accent nail and what are these lip-shaped things on her otherwise boring black shoes? No ma’am. Try again.

Girls Season 3 breakout star Alison Williams nailed the “I’m chic yet still fun” look in this color block and cut-out mixed look. That simple sideswept ponytail doesn’t distract and helps keep our eyes focused on the outfit itself. Can’t wait to see her next look!

Naya Rivera DOES NOT disappoint! The Glee starlet was on a roll in 2013 and it looks like she’s holding on to  her red carpet top status in 2014. Like Alison Williams, Naya worked a neutral version of the color block trend and looked stunning. Let’s keep her relevant so we can see more amazing looks throughout award season!

Lucy Hale is a pretty little lady in cosmic meets tropical print dress. The black background on the dress and wavy tendrils on her updo give her an air of elegance, while the bright hues and single shoulder strap balance the look with a playful vibe. It would have been even better had she steered clear of the round toe pump.
