Taylor Swift covers December Cosmo
Is Taylor Swift ready to shed her preteen image? The country singer known for making bitter breakup songs about her famous exes is gracing the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine for the first time ever in their December 2012 issue, on newsstands November 6.
At the age of 16, Taylor Swift blew up with her self-titled debut album which had large appeal with the pre-teen crowd. Although Swift herself has gotten two years older with the release of each new album, her songs and general persona seem to still appeal to that demographic. Even her most recent hit, “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” is reminiscent of an on-again, off-again high school romance.
Swift’s photo on the popular women’s magazine, known for doling out sex and relationship advice, is a stark contrast to the Taylor Swift America has grown to know in the past six years. She trades her signature country-girl curls for a blowout with bangs and replaces her modest sundresses for a velvet halter and miniskirt.
Inside, Swift tells editors her thoughts on past and future relationships, sharing that she doesn’t, “ever want to end up in a relationship that isn’t fair ever again,” and that she’s “never wasted too much time with the wrong person and that’s one thing I’m proud of.”
Perhaps appearing in Cosmopolitan is the 22 year old’s attempt to mature her image? Nothing seems to help a young star shed their tween image faster than showing the world they’ve got a sexy side.
