#WhatMakesYouBlush? Sephora and Make Up Forever HD Blush Celebration Recap
Sephora offers great perks to their VIB Rouge members, so when I was invited to a Make Up For Ever HD Blush Celebration at the Make Up For Ever Studio I jumped at the chance to attend and bring a friend!
As soon as we walked in we were greeted by staff who told us our face shape and offered hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. They divided us into two groups for our one-on-one makeup consultations. I sat down with Make Up For Ever Artist Yvonne who started by adding their Microperfecting Primer in Caramel (#4) to refresh my makeup and even out my skin.
When it was time for my blush assessment Yvonne assessed my undertones and helped me determine the best color for my complexion. Cool trick – open your mouth and look at the color on the inside of your lips. That color naturally comes out on your cheeks! I’m a dusty rose, so we decided Indian Rosewood (#420) would be best for me as an everyday blush.
Yvonne showed me how to apply blush to my oval-shaped face using their double-ended sculpting brush (#158). With a full face of makeup Yvonne suggested I try out a nude lip color that would complement the blush and my skin tone. Turns out that color was Rouge Artiste Natural N5 which looks great when paired with their Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in 4C.
After our consultations we were free to check out the store and take 20% off our entire purchase! I decided to get the lipstick and liner Yvonne suggested so I could incorporate it into the #NoBareLips30 challenge as well as the primer since it doubles as a makeup refresher.
My friend Tamiah didn’t end up making any purchases, but she did try on eyeliner and Rouge Artist Intense Pearly Dark Violet (#14) lipstick. I’m trying to convince her she should go back to Sephora and buy it with her giftcard!
All attendees walked out with a Sephora goodie bag filled with the 158 sculpting brush, the blush recommended based on our consultation, the new HD Pressed Powder and a Sephora mirror with a $10 gift card!
I’m excited about all my new goodies, especially the HD blush. As someone who takes LOTS of photos, it’s great to have makeup that helps me look good in front of the camera!
